A Visit to a Ghost Town

Last week we checked out this little ghost town in Southern California.  I had fun taking pictures and just fell in love with the little slumped shack… I think it will be appearing in one of my paintings soon.

Wagon seat, I just love the texture and faded color of the old wood.

Loved the shape of this tree. It was situated in the middle of town.

I just walked around a corner and these were leaning against the wall by the jail. I just loved the composition and the shadows.

Have a wonderful creative day, Janell

  1. I can’t pass up an old building (unless it’s on private property). These are great shots! I’m surprised people have left it standing and haven’t carted stuff off. A neighbor near us had a fantastic old outhouse with wisteria growing all over it, and I oohed and aahed over it every spring. Finally one year I took my camera in the car and remembered to take a couple shots. That winter it fell down. I was SO glad I’d taken the time to get the photos!
