I’ve had a busy time painting. But not painting on a canvas. My husband and I painted our family room on Valentine’s Day! Well, actually, he didn’t really have a choice. We have been talking about doing this for a while, so I bought the paint and taped everything off on Friday while he was at work. So when he got home…surprise! Here is a picture of it all taped off and primed with a special primer for flaking paint. We had it professionally painted about 15 years ago, and the painter didn’t prime before he painted water based paint over oil paint (although he told me he did), so we have been living with flaking off paint for quite a while. Actually, we were done by early evening. For some reason, I am pretty fast and accurate with a paint brush. 🙂 And it helps to have someone who is 6′ tall around to paint all of the high spots I can’t reach. It was about 80 degrees that day so the paint dried quickly. (I am so sorry to all of you who have been buried in snow lately! I have been thinking of you and sending you warm thoughts.)
It is now a beautiful blue room. We get lots of sunshine in this room and I love how light and airy it feels during the day. This was our view out the window as we painted.
I am headed back to the studio tomorrow as I’ve got a new idea for a painting that I am really excited about and I can’t wait to get it started. Feathers are on my mind. I hope you had a wonderful Valentine’s weekend. I am sure appreciating my sweet Valentine.
Have a wonderful, creative day, Janell
