Artist Statement: I strive to evoke a powerful message of the shared spaces between nature and humanity in my paintings. My “Wildish Spirits” series contrasts stylized, surrealistic, renditions of women in nature, with large expressive eyes, and whimsical fantastical elements, bringing a sense of wonder to my contemporary art. My art is Inspired from my childhood spent with the Northern California and Oregon forests as my playground, a family of gardeners, and my love and respect for our natural environment. I examine the way humans and nature intersect and connect through a sense of curiosity, symbolic surrealism, and ecofeminism, that embraces the deep connection I have with nature.
