Aqua, A Mermaid Painting

Aqua, a sweet little mermaid slumbering in the waves.  I love the colors of this painting.

mermaid painting by Janell MIthani I did some traveling in September, visiting family in Oregon.  I had a wonderful trip, and it took me a week or so to wind down and get back to work in the studio.  This week, I got back to my paintings and this painting was still sitting on my easel, almost finished.  She seemed to be calling to me… 🙂  Finish me, please!

  4. Thanks, Eva. I didn’t decide on her name until I had finished the painting. Funny how sometimes I know the name right when I start and other times, I have to see how the painting evolves. I hope you are having a wonderful day!

  5. I Totally agree Janell, sometimes it goes like that with me as well, the title pops up and then I know what to do or first I design and that inspires the title. You’re most kind, I do take it one day at the time some a better, some are not, I try my best to go on.

  8. Hi Susan, Thank you! I was having fun with it. I’ve had tulle floating all over the studio lately, using it for fairy hammocks in all my fairy garden classes. I hope all is well on the farm and all your animals are healthy. Are you getting some Fall weather to enjoy? I am still waiting for the cooler weather here. It’s supposed to be 90 tomorrow! 😦

  9. The most perfect of names for this beauty. There is a gorgeous ethereal quality to her which was enhanced with the addition of the tulle for the styling.
