A New Manga Character… Jazzie Butterfly

This is my latest Manga character that I created.

Her name is Jazzie Butterfly. She was really fun to create. I did a sketch in pencil and then finished and inked her in Photoshop.

Halloween Manga – Zombies

This last weekend I taught a Manga Zombie workshop at the Library Teen Center. I had a group of fun and talented teens! Here are a few demo’s I sketched for the class.

I had a lot of fun with this class, it was pretty funny listening to my gruesome drawing instructions. A big change from my usual Manga subject matter of sweet fairies and tree ladies. Hmm… not sure if I am up to inking them. We had a lot of laughs throughout the workshop. 🙂 Happy Halloween! Janell

Monterey Park Bruggemeyer Library

Please join me for an artists reception and exhibit of my work. I will be displaying images from my book BUD, A Collection of Baby and Floral Art. I will also be providing a short talk on my experience creating my art and publishing a book. The reception is from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM, Today, Sunday, April 1st. Stop by if you can make it. The exhibit will be on display in the entrance area of the library for the month of April.

Manga Workshop for Girl Scouts

I am really looking forward to teaching a Manga Drawing workshop for Girl Scouts of the Greater Los Angeles this coming Saturday at the LA Convention Center! I am drawing a Brownie Girl Scout for the girls to draw with me.
